I'll be speaking at the SharePoint Best Practices Conference on these topics:
The Discipline of SuperCharged Findability: Understanding why Findability should be an Organizing Principle in your SharePoint Deployment - Part I
Audience: System Administrators, Project Managers, Director of Technology, CTO, CIO
Abstract: In this first session, SharePoint MVP Bill English will discuss what Findability is and go over the latest research on Findability. He'll outline the core problems with findability, including a lack of understanding of what Findability is, how Findability is confused with search technology platforms and how most corporations want to find their information quickly and easily, but yet they can't seem to achieve this goal in spite of their best efforts and intentions. Bill will also outline the costs of a poor findability solution. If you've been working on ways to use SharePoint to make your information more findable, this session will help you understand the hidden problems which you must overcome in order to be successful in implementing a robust Findability solution.
The Discipline of SuperCharged Findability: Best Practices on Organizing Information in SharePoint Server 2007 - Part II
Audience: System Administrators, Project Managers, Director of Technology, CTO, CIO
Abstract: In this second session on Findability, SharePoint MVP Bill English will outline a sample Findability Architecture for a fictitious company and illustrate how to use out-of-the-box tools to organize information in SharePoint Server 2007. Bill will also "connect the dots" between the concepts presented in the first presentation and their practical application in the second presentation.
